How to Create an Assembly Worksheet

When you create an assembly item, you remove the number of an inventory item from its on hand quantity. Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to Operations > Inventory > Assembly Worksheet.

  1. To create an assembly, click on the Add Product button at the top of the Assembly Worksheet screen.

  1. In the Add Inventory screen, enter the applicable information about the product, including the Type of ProductVendorVendor’s Product IDDescriptionDepartmentCostMargin,Price and any other relevant information. Click on Save when finished.

4. Now click on the Assembly Details button at the top of the screen to add products.

5. Your cursor should now be under the Unit Assembled Components area.

  • The Unit Quantity is the amount of the product in the Assembly product.
  • The Used Quantity is the quantity of the item that you are using in the product.
  • The On Hand quantity is the quantity of the item that you currently have in inventory.
  • The Balance is what the on hand quantity of that item will be after you create the assembly product.

In the first field, enter the PLU number or the name of the first item required for the assembly, then press Enter.

  1. To add another item to the Unit Assembled Components, click on the PLU of the item you just added, then press Enter twice to create a blank line.

7. Add as many new Unit Assembled Component Items as you need under Unit Quantity. When finished, click on Save.

  1. You’ll be promoted with a window containing the following three options:

On Hold: This will pause the assembly and let you to finish it at another date.

Finish: This will finalize the assembly. You won’t be able to edit the components afterwards.

Cancel: This will cancel the assembly.

  1. If you’re finished with the assembly, click Finish. You will be prompted to finalize the assembly. Click on Yes.

10. The assembly has been created. Remember that after you create an assembly, the inventory items you used to create the assembly will be taken out of the Inventory and put into the assembly item.

If you sell this assembly item and want to create more, go to the assembly worksheet again. In the PLU field under Assembled Items, enter the PLU of the assembly product you had created previously.

Change the quantity to as many as you need, and click Save.
