An employer can use ACE’s security features to control what their employees do within the ACE system. All employees with the same rights are created under the same User Group. Then the group has certain features or access allowed or forbidden. Once the security settings are set, it’s easy to check when employees are requiring a manager’s approval to access a feature or action by checking the Manager Approval Log.
Step-by-step guide
- Go to Setup > Security & Users > Users.
- On the left-hand side of the Users window, you’ll see the list of groups.
- To create a new group, click on Add Group. Fill in the group name and click on Ok.
- To create a new user, click on Add User.
- Enter the Display Name. This is the name that appears on invoices and screens. Then enter in the User ID, Password, and other relevant information. Click on Save to finish.
- Repeat the previous steps until all users and user groups have been created.
How to Setup Access Rights
Setting up access control will restrict user groups from accessing some parts of ACE.
1.Go to SETUP->SECURITY&USERS->ACCESS CONTROL
2. Select desired user group from the drop down menu
3. Uncheck any boxes that the security group selected should NOT have access to (NOTE: There's 4 different tabs with separate security settings)
4. Click SAVE & QUIT

Another set of security settings we have in ACE are under Security
1. Go to SETUP->SECURITY&USERS→SECURITY
2. The user groups (security groups) are listed on the right and the security groupings are listed on the left. Select ONE user group and one security grouping, below you will see a variety of settings that can be restricted. Check or uncheck the boxes depending on the groups rights (NOTE: Make sure to go through each security grouping for each user group)
3. Click SAVE & QUIT
Activating Manager Approval Override
Now that restrictions have been applied to each user group; when attempting to perform a task they don't have the access to, ACE contains a setting that will PROMPT for MANAGER OVERRIDE
1.Go to DEFAULTS->SYSTEM→DISPLAY
2. Check Require Managers Password to Override
3. Click SAVE & QUIT
